Moon (2009) by Duncan Jones

Moon by Duncan Jones is a cross between 2001 Stanley Kubrick’s Space Odyssey and The Martian (2015), it has elements of Artificial Intelligence and corporate enterprise in space. It’s very much about the isolation which Bowie suggested his song were often about.

It foretells speaking and interacting with computers as well as the possibility of conscience. It investigates the selfish use of technology by unscrupulous industries and also the possibility that the human condition is somehow a part this this pre-programmed cycle of purpose and being without knowing.

Scott stayed over last night and he and Julian and I watched the movie together, I think like most thinking movies I would have also liked to have seen Moon at a theatre.
